The Influencers
Blackinski is an emerging artist from Melbourne, Australia. Having already held a solo exhibition as well as a group show, this will be his second solo exhibition, in which is titled, "The Influencers".
His artwork is inspired by pop art aesthetics, whilst adopting a minimalist approach, the works tend to be obsessive of utilising negative space, allowing the figures rendered to be as vital and concentrated as possible.
Using a ringlight as the main symbol for his works, Blackinski allows the figures to be offset by its contrast in technology, playing on the notion of dualism, the plurality of man and machine, social integration and the individual, representing the ring light being present in recording all of these events.
With a Kitschy style and approach, Blackinski hopes the images reveal the symbolic undertones which lurk beneath the surface of it all...as much as this modern era appears as playful and frivolous, it can never hide the all too familiar human condition, which at times, is not without its Absurdity.
