“Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter.

Try again. Fail again. Fail better.”

—Samuel Beckett

Born-and-bred Thai artist Thitibodee Rungteerawattananon hails from Bangkok and graduated from Silpakorn University with a degree in decorative art. His work focuses on conceptual practice  in form of paintings, installations, and found objects. Exploiting culture jamming, Thitibodee first forayed into an art sphere with a notorious project Thai Message, where he furtively displayed, at Tate Modern toilet, sundries that were postally delivered by curious senders on their own volition. His Thai Message, albeit rollercoasting through compliments and criticisms, has glided its way across several countries, including Thailand, the US, England, Indonesia, and Australia. Now Thai Message is permanent collection in Maiiam contemporary art museum toilet. In 2018, Thitibodee settled legal proceedings against a big-name air-conditioner company. Despite meager compensation, such success inspired his recent exhibition the AIR (Bangkok, 2019). Since 2020, he has created the online stores Shopee and Lazada as the hubs to which artists can deliver their artworks. His shows were also exhibited online at Gallery Ver’s in 2020 and Jim Thompson Art Center’s from 2021 to 2022. Recently, he has been awarded commissions from Singapore and Korea.
