Jiggo Peerapol

The works of Thai artist Peerapol Aintoom (Jiggo) intend to transport us to his childhood days of ‘action play.’ The depiction of many characters from different stories forms a communal gathering between heroes, villains and monsters. This surreal assembly of action figures creates a fantasy toy land that mirrors our social and political conditions.

While Jiggo’s paintings are hyper-realistic they possess a dreamlike aesthetic, confusing the real world with the world of make-believe.
