Gennet was born in San Francisco in 1980 and studied Art in Melbourne at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she completed a BFA (Painting) with Honours and an MFA.

Gennet’s primary focus is on life as it is expressed through transmission. Working primarily with brushwork and oil paint on canvas, she brings together a scientific approach with a psychology of expression, creating works that seek to envelop the viewer with a strong sense of intention.

For Gennet, the act of looking is an integral part of the artistic process. This process extends beyond the studio and into the experience of the viewer, inviting a sensitive and sentimental engagement with the work.
