This exhibition is a collection of abstract paintings by three different artists. Each work explores different concepts and yet all maintain the same methods of play and discovery. This opens a conversation through abstract motifs, shared energies and refined colour relationships. The culmination of works in this exhibition showcases the paradoxical shifts within painting.
There is a difference in speed, harmony and dissonance in each artists' work questioning the relationship with the viewer how do forms in painting map to cogitation in the mind? These creative approaches harness the state of flux and transformative qualities of painting. Qualities which are then extended into space through creating the works in response to the sites they were made in.
This shared approach allows the works to form conversations with each other. The gallery space is activated through a site specific installation further extending the site conscious aspects of the work. Through variations of gestural and contemplative mark making, the works sit in a nebulous state with each other and the space they inhabit.
