Nadine Hobson is a Melbourne based artist, a lifelong creative and self confessed perpetual daydreamer. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful, diverse beauty of the Australian landscape, including the Dandenong Ranges where she grew up, Nadine creates textured abstracts that reflect nature’s colour palettes, while also reflecting an otherworldly, dreamlike quality; and as such, fondly refers to her paintings as ‘dreamscapes’. Works are created from a deeply emotional connection to country and place, conveying mood, emotion and a tangible representation of an experience in nature.

Further layered into each piece is musical inspiration derived from music. Every artwork is named for a particularly meaningful song or lyric that wends its way through the creative process, and ultimately coincides with the overall mood of the finished work. For Nadine, art is intrinsically linked to a love of music and this adds an additional dimension to her practice and completed works.
