Looking Over the Light
This installation explores the feelings of absence in the diaspora, navigating the sense of space limitation during and after the pandemic as an immigrant female artist. Its explores the artist’s anxiety of being unable to connect physically with others and family in her motherland.
Bio
Nani Puspasari is a visual artist based in Naarm, Australia. She grew up in Indonesia, the largest Muslim-majority country, and raised in a multicultural Chinese and Javanese household. Nani immigrated to Australia in 2008 and studied design for years, graduating from RMIT (Master of Fine Art) in 2010.
