SPACE 3: REBECCA CASE

Death is hard to look at, a glance and then we turn our backs and change the subject. Full of fear, sorrow, or pain, Death is not easily embraced. But when we take a closer look, we see that Death can be beautiful. Without it, Life would not be possible.

When you walk in the woods, you are surrounded by this cycle. Look up and witness the birds flitting from limb to limb, gathering food for their nestlings. Look down and see a fallen tree, its bones providing nourishment and support for the next generation. We look at death and we see loss, but my paintings look at Death and see Life.
