Yamada’s world is fuelled by his passion for muppet toys, cartoons, monsters and comics.
His work draws on the familiar and sometimes sinister characters from childhood, piecing together imagery from vintage TV, movies, pop culture and his imagination. The stories he creates call into question the morals we learn through classic fairytales and media and serve as a mirror to reflect real life and contemporary society.
