THE SWEETNESS OF DOING NOTHING

My paintings begin with the seed of an idea, this series is all about leisure where being is enough and finding the joy of idleness. I am a colourist who loves working with bright, contrasting hues to create paintings that feel vibrant, joyful and full of energy. While I am drawn to the human face, I approach it as an abstraction rather than a literal representation focusing on shape, colour and expression, pushing myself to loosen up and lean further into abstraction. I strive to keep my work uncomplicated and light hearted, creating paintings that offer a sense of fun and pleasure for both the viewer and myself.
